Who needs to file an income tax return?
Every company and association of persons must file, as must any individual whose taxable income is above Rs 600,000 a year. Even below that, filing is often worth it: owning property or a vehicle can require a return, and being on the Active Taxpayers List means withholding on banking, property, vehicles and utilities is deducted at the filer rate rather than double. If you are unsure, tell us your situation and we will confirm.
What happens if I miss the filing deadline?
You can still file, but to get back onto the Active Taxpayers List you now pay a surcharge: Rs 25,000 for individuals, Rs 50,000 for AOPs and Rs 100,000 for companies. Individuals can avoid it by undertaking not to buy property for six months. Until you are back on the list, most withholding is deducted at double the filer rate.
What documents do I need for my return?
Usually your CNIC, salary or income details (salary certificate, business records or rent agreements), bank statements and profit certificates, and certificates for tax already deducted, for example on your phone, electricity bill, vehicle or bank transactions. For the wealth statement we also need details of property, vehicles, investments and any loans, plus last year's return if you filed one. We send you a short checklist for your case, so you only gather what is relevant.
How long does company registration take?
It depends mainly on name approval with SECP and how quickly documents and signatures are ready. Once everything is in hand, incorporation is often completed within a few working days, followed by NTN and, if needed, sales tax registration. We give you a realistic timeline after reviewing your case.
What changed for salaried people in the 2026 budget?
Tax rates were reduced on every slab above Rs 2.2 million a year, and the surcharge on high salaries no longer applies. Someone earning Rs 4.1 million a year pays Rs 75,000 less. Use the salary tax check to see your own figure.
What is a "faceless" audit or assessment?
Under the Finance Act 2026, FBR can handle audits, assessments and appeals through a National Faceless Centre, with hearings held online and cases assigned by system rather than by local office. The rules on what you must answer are the same, so replies still need care, and we can represent you through the process.
Can my business outsource accounting and bookkeeping?
Yes. Bookkeeping, financial reporting, payables and receivables, and other finance tasks can be handled by our team, on a scope, reporting calendar and set of responsibilities agreed in writing with you.
How is the scope of an engagement decided?
After an initial discussion of your needs. We review what is involved, agree the scope and responsibilities with you, and explain the next steps before any work begins.
How are your fees worked out?
Fees depend on the work involved: the type of return, the number of income sources, or how complex a notice or registration is. After a first conversation we confirm the scope and quote a fee in writing before any work begins, so there are no surprises.

How did we do? Tell us honestly.
If we have worked on your return, notice, registration or accounts, we'd value a minute of your time. Praise helps us know what to keep doing, and criticism helps us fix what isn't working.
